Why I Built Balkan Adventure Planner

This isn't a business model for us — it's how we live. Radomir and I are raising three children in the outdoors, and the mountains aren't where we go to escape life—they're where we live it. Balkan Adventure Planner started with a simple realization. After years climbing in the Himalayas, the Caucasus, and the Alps, I kept coming home with the same thought: the Balkans offer some of the most rewarding mountain experiences in Europe, yet many of them remain surprisingly difficult for international travelers to discover. The knowledge has always been here—shared among local guides, mountain rescuers, and outdoor communities—but rarely accessible to people visiting from abroad. So we built the bridge we wished existed: a place where travelers can discover authentic adventures, connect with trusted local experts, and experience the Balkans through the people who know these mountains best. If Balkan Adventure Planner helps someone fall in love with these mountains the way I did, then we've built exactly what we set out to create.
