Few natural features in Serbia are as recognisable as the Uvac's meanders—a series of tight loops carved through limestone canyon over thousands of years, now protected within the Uvac Special Nature Reserve.
The reserve is equally known for its wildlife: it shelters one of the largest griffon vulture colonies in this part of Europe, and watching these enormous birds ride the thermals above the canyon is a genuine highlight for many visitors.
